Janell Schicker, M.A., CCC, is a speech-language pathologist and has specialized in auditory processing disorders since 1991. She has a master's degree in speech-language pathology and a certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She had an extremely high success rate working with learning disorders in school systems and other private practices which led her to open her own practice in 1997. Due to her reputation in the community her caseload was full before she officially opened the doors of her first practice. In 2001 she and her husband Tom, a clinician degreed in communications and the clinic manager, joined forces to open a larger clinic. In 2003 they pursued a mission of finding a therapy to combine with their auditory techniques that would also address visual processing, sensory processing and true ADD/ADHD disorders. Their goal was to find a therapy program that would more globally address the needs of those with learning disorders.

They found what they were looking for in Integrated Listening Systems (iLs) therapy based on the work of the highly acclaimed Dr. Tomatis. Although no therapy is perfect, the combination of ILS and the Lindamood-Bell programs has been the most effective marriage they have seen in their careers. iIs is appropriate for age two through adult and addresses a wide range of issues. Their clients range from those with mild learning issues to those with severe learning disorders. They have a great respect for their work as it reaches the core of learning issues and stimulates deep neurological changes.

Tutoring addresses the end result rather than the root cause of learning issues and therefore is an ongoing process for many students. Students that receive the combination of therapies offered at Dynamic Learning Services often become independent learners for the first time in their lives. Some of the benefits commonly seen include improvements in the following: self-esteem, confidence, grades, reading, spelling, listening, attention, comprehension, speech, independence with homework, writing, math, behavior, social skills, right-left discrimination, anxiety, coordination, and musical and sports performance.
